Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 1½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • butter, for greasing the baking dish
  • 14 ounce can condensed milk
  • 12 ounce can evaporated milk
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together and set aside.
  3. Using an electric mixer, beat the sugar and eggs in a separate bowl until fluffy and pale, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Mix the milk and vanilla into the egg mixture until smooth. Gently fold in the flour mixture until the batter is smooth and lump-free.
  5. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter. Pour the batter into the dish and tap gently to remove air bubbles. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the cake cool completely before soaking it in milk.
