- 1/2 cup plain yogurt full-fat is great for littles
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup flour all-purpose or whole wheat
- 1 tsp baking powder omit if under 1 year old
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp melted butter or coconut oil
- 1/2 small sweet potato mashed (about 1/3 cup)
- 1/2 ripe banana mashed
- 1/4 cup blueberries mashed or finely chopped for younger babies
Instructions
- Steam the sweet potato until very soft. Mash it together with the banana until smooth.
- In a bowl, mix in the egg, milk, and yogurt.
- Add the flour, baking powder (if using), and cinnamon to the mixture, stirring well.
- Gently incorporate the blueberries into the batter. Allow it to rest for 3–5 minutes to thicken slightly.
- Lightly grease the waffle maker and cook the batter until golden and fully cooked.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, substitute yogurt and milk with almond or coconut milk products.
Adjust the sweetness by adding a touch of honey or maple syrup if desired.
