- 4 cups bread flour
- 3 tsp instant yeast
- 2 tbs granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp salt
- 5 tbs butter unsalted
- 1 1/2 cup water room temperature
- 1 tbs vegetable oil for greasing
Instructions
- Combine the bread flour, instant yeast, granulated sugar, and salt in a stand mixer bowl.
- With the mixer running, gradually add the butter and pour in the water slowly.
- Mix on medium speed for about 10 minutes until the dough is smooth.
- Form the dough into a ball and coat it with about a 1/2 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
- Transfer the dough to a bowl, cover it, and allow it to rise for about 1 1/2 hours, until it has doubled in size.
- Gently punch down the dough and move it to a lightly floured surface.
- Shape it into a rectangle, then tightly roll it into a loaf with the seam side down.
- Place the loaf in a greased pan, cover it, and allow it to rise for another hour.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F and bake for 35–40 minutes.
- If the top darkens too quickly, cover it loosely with foil halfway through baking.
- After baking, remove the bread from the pan and let it cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Ensure the water is at room temperature for best results.
You can use a kitchen scale to measure flour for more accuracy.
Store the bread in a cool, dry place to keep it fresh.
