Description

These Heart-Shaped Cherry Hand Pies are a delightful treat, featuring a flaky crust and sweet cherry filling. Perfect for a quick dessert or a charming snack for loved ones, they are easy to prepare and absolutely delicious!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 refrigerated pie crusts or your own homemade
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 egg white whisked
  • sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Lay the pie crust on a piece of parchment paper and roll it out slightly.
  3. Cut the crust into 6 heart shapes, making 3 pies from one crust.
  4. Brush the edges of the hearts with egg white to ensure they seal properly.
  5. Spoon two tablespoons of cherry pie filling into the center of each heart and press the edges together to seal them.
  6. Use a small paring knife to cut a small heart-shaped vent on top of each pie.
  7. Save any extra filling for serving later.
  8. Dust the pies with sugar and place them in the oven to bake for about 15 minutes.
  9. Keep an eye on the pies as they bake quickly.

Notes

These hand pies can be made with homemade pie crust for an extra special touch.
Serve with extra cherry filling on the side for dipping.
Ensure the oven is preheated properly to avoid uneven baking.
