- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups beef stock
- 1 1/4 cups half and half
- 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown ground beef, breaking into small crumbles. When nearly cooked through, add salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper. Cook until no pink remains, about 8 minutes total. Do not drain.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add butter and let melt.
- Sprinkle flour evenly over beef. Stir constantly for 2-3 minutes.
- Gradually pour in beef stock, stirring constantly.
- Add half and half and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine.
- Simmer 8-10 minutes, stirring frequently, until thickened to desired consistency. Taste and adjust salt if needed.
- Serve hot over mashed potatoes, biscuits, or toast.
