Description

This chunky guacamole is packed with irresistible flavors and made with fresh ingredients. It’s easy to prepare, making it an ideal choice for parties, snacks, or a quick addition to any meal. Dive into the creamy avocado goodness, accented by lime juice and spices, for a delicious treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large ripe avocados (preferably haas)
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped (about 1/2 cup)
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeds and ribs removed, finely diced
  • 1 medium tomato, seeds removed and finely diced
  • 1 to 3 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
  • 4 tablespoons finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon kosher salt, fine sea salt, or garlic salt, to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon ground chipotle pepper, optional

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half lengthwise and twist to separate. Remove the pits and scoop the flesh into a large mixing bowl. Mash with a fork until broken down but still chunky.
  2. Add the onion, tomato, jalapeno, garlic, and cilantro to the bowl.
  3. Pour in the lime juice and sprinkle with cumin, salt (starting with the smaller amount), and ground chipotle if using.
  4. Gently fold everything together just until combined. Taste and adjust with additional salt or lime juice if necessary.
  5. Serve immediately, or cover tightly and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

Choosing ripe avocados is key for the best flavor and texture.
Adjust the jalapeno to your spice preference.
For extra flavor, consider adding a dash of hot sauce.
